Ken Yoshioka was born in Japan and graduated from Waseda University with B.A. in Media, Body, and Image. He mainly studied Film (Yasujiro Ozu: 小津安二郎 , Vim Venders and Robert Bresson etc...), Photography (Jean-Eugene Atget, Shoji Ueda: 植田正治 and Andre Kertesz etc...), Art (Francis Bacon, Takashi Murakami: 村上隆 and Yayoi Kusama: 草間弥生 etc...) and Theater (Ishin-ha :維新派).

After the graduation, he entered New York Film Academy in New York in 2011 to study film directing and filmmaking. He has ever worked in 30 shootings as director, writer, director of photography, producer, 1st/2nd assistant camera, gaffer,  key grip (grip) and sound mixer.  ​



Now he has finished his thesis short film, "a week" and is applying for many film festivals all over the world. (This film made over $4000.00 in an indie gogo campaign during preproduction.)

And also he is currently in preproduction of short films and 1 feature film as a director and a producer. By making use of his media (art) crossing knowledge, he always struggling to think what is the film, what is the human, and the relationship between our society and us. He is trying to capture moments with a camera. He can work for international projects with people from all over the world. (2/12/2013)
